2002 Gold Proof Sovereign unopened

Hi Everyone,

This might seem like a strange question but I have a 2002 Gold Proof Sovereign still sealed in the mint bag that it came in.

I know it's genuine because it was a gift from my father who started collecting years ago and passed some of his collection down to me.

Now my question is this, would there be any difference in value (if I were to sell it on, not that I would you understand) if I were to open the bag it to have a look at it?

Thanks.

Is it a proof or a BU as some of the BU come in bags the proof ones come with presentation box and Coa. Do you have pics?

Hi Peeps,

It's definately a proof coin and is complete. Box, cert everything. I can try upload a pic of the sealed bag and box later. It's just the same as when it left the mint.

Thanks for the responses.

Pop it open and have a look and enjoy it :D

But as said above, leave it in the capsule, no finger prints or scratching it

I might just do that, it is tempting.

Thanks.

some people will pay more for an unopened mint-wrapped proof. don't see it myself as there could be problems with the coin or it may not be there at all!:D
