  1. Hi all, I was hoping someone could direct me to selection of quality auction houses based in the U.K. where you can buy coins with 0% buyers premium. The only 2 I know: 1) The Coin Cabinet 2) Coins of the Realm Any others??
  2. I think it’s the 1989… winning out so slightly over the 2017. The 1989 has just ao much history (500 years) behind it.
  3. ?!? Outside London??! I did not know you could get one? I assume you don’t get your own key to go there though right?
  4. Yes great feedback thanks. I could always take my wife with me, she is not big but the most violent person I know! Lol
  5. Great points! Thanks @Paul Out of interest is there places in the U.K. where you can get post office box’s? Back where I am from you could in every town so you could have items posted to your po box and pick up at anytime. With SD you still have to give your address in the U.K. (even though half the time I pick it up from the Post office anyways?!).
  6. Great point. I guess I am learning I am more a HODL than a flipper. I have learnt (for me) it’s better to buy something long term rather that short term. I am a dollar cost averaging man too.
  7. Yes, I hear you on the panther, was my thought exactly … still not sold. Then again GMT 2 root beer Rolex was like that a couple years back … turned itself around to make a tidy 25% above RRP if you had one now. … we can have hope.
  8. It’s kinda like somehow I have 6 accounts with the royal mint but they can’t amalgamate them together. Seems like a time warp where high street banks along with the mint are stuck in the dark ages… heck I mean my business card with Lloyds doesn’t even have contactless payments, nor can I have them with Lloyds business?! Dark ages I tell ya’ 😂
  9. Via my account manager… it’s a completely different service… strange I know.
  10. To late on the great engravers series, you have to get in on the first coin. I did for QB Tudor series, but I fear it’s going to be a dud after the Original QB stole the show and the great engravers have taken centre stage. The first Tudor QB also looks nothing special, maybe it has potential 🤔?!? As a buyer with account manager at The Royal London Mint I personal feel I am flogging a dead horse a bit and I may bow out of too much investing in a lot of duds in an attempt to build a rapport there. Doesn’t seem to work the same as in a Rolex dealership. Spending more at the royal mint seems to give you very little or no more credibility or priory on decent coins.
  11. Hi given the recent activity on 2oz gold Gothic Crown crowns and a possibility to pick up a bargain/deal on eBay my question is as a buyer how well are you protected on big purchases? And for how long? 30 days? I have bought a few items and having attempted to contact seller and being palmed off have failed to followup with eBay after which time they are not interested in helping (if you can even get through to someone?!) So my dilemma is which would a spend even £8.5k here on a 2oz gold gothic crown (like the one @BackyardBullionrecently noted he had seen on eBay. I mean it sounds too good to be true, therefore it probably is no? Obviously buying through TSF with a large volume trader with a long standing history is a no brainer, but not seen one less that £12k yet. Thoughts on eBay? Would you ever buy a high price ticket item there?
  12. £4995 I believe was price direct from memory for the 2oz gold gothic crown. …really everyone that signed up for first options on the entire series are the winners, everyone else gets .. 🤷‍♂️ … what’s left. Fair play to those that get in early, I am just interested as to what percentage of great engravers coins the mint does not allow to be reserve in advance to give the rest of us a deal/chance to scrap over? 10%, 15%, 20% of total production stock? After all it you make you market too exclusive you may limit the those with new found wealth (eg. Crypto) from investing in the first place.
  13. I’d love to buy for £8.5k!! Where did you see that? How many scratches did it have on it? 🤔
  14. Received this rather nice piece today (Proof 2017 5sov Coin) from @richatthecroft.
  15. Love that Isle of Man… I expect it’s not CGT free though?
  16. Thanks to @Mas for these beauties. They I would take a quick picture before they head off to storage.
  17. Thought I would show a couple lunars.. nice little 1/4 Oz AU year of the ox (in box) and 1oz year if the pig I picked up. May sell the year of the pig soon…
  18. Had a few coins passing through today… Finally got a “3 Graces” 2oz! even if it is a 69. Can live with that. Cracking coin! … and the Mr Happy! I think I love the box as much as the coin!!
