The 1917 Candian sovereign came back from grading by PCGS. Very happy with the result. 

Result just back........... It's always buttock clenching subbing 5.5k coins and the fear of not getting the result.

Arrived back from PCGS this week. The 1876 British Sovereign, the only one of that year graded by PCGS with the Proof Like (“PL”) designation.
I was grading this for a friend with a few of my coins. Needless to say he is very happy. 

Just picked up this 2009 PCGS 70DCAM graded sovereign from Drake Sterling Numismatics. In part payment I sold my 69DCAM sovereign.

The 1880 error sovereign with the second 8 over-struck a 7 in the date. 

Two buys from the last Coin Cabinet auction filling in two gaps in the Queen Elizabeth II proof sovereign date run. 

Six coins came back from PCGS this week. I received the grades some time ago but PCGS closed shortly thereafter due to the US COVID-19 lock down and so understandably it’s taken a while for them to get to me. Lovely coins and some great results. 

The 2019 Prince Albert and Queen Victoria strike on the day sovereigns both came in at MS70. 
The 2019 proof sovereign was graded 70DCAM with the 2020 69DCAM.
The 50p shape of a nation 50p was graded 69DCAM. The lovely old 1900 Perth mint half sovereign was graded XF Details, you can’t win them all but still a lovely coin. 

Just received the 2020 1oz Perth silver swan coin. I live in Perth but was late getting to the mint and they sold out within the first hour. Ended up buying one on eBay. Anyway looks very good with the other three.

Two Royal Mint dinosaurs! 

Received in the post yesterday. Two recent buys from a Sydney coin auction.
First is a lovely 1894 Sydney sovereign. Picture does not do it justice, great proof like fields.
The second is a bullion 1/4oz gold Britannia. 

Received the Brexit two coin pack yesterday, bought this direct from the Royal Mint. Today received this very nice 2020 proof sovereign bought from Australian eBay, this one was a great deal. 

A new coin from the Royal Australian mint, Canberra. Mintage of 5,000. 

A recent eBay buy. A 1906 Sydney mint half sovereign. 
According to the Marsh guide 308,000 mintage and S for scarce.

The 1/4 oz platinum Britannia arrived this week. Lovely design and mintage quite low at only 150 coins.

Thought I would add this recent purchase. It’s the 2oz 2020 Kruger proof. Apparently the first year of the 2oz coin. 
 
I also bought some light reading. Yes it’s about sovereigns! 

Not received today but a few buys from over the last few weeks. 

A Perth Mint sovereign dated 1899, so the first year they were producing sovereigns as a branch mint. A pick up from a coin fair about a week ago. 
 
Next a 1925 South African sovereign from @arshimo2012 bought a while back but only just arrived in Australia. At the same time received this lovely 1887 Sydney Mint sovereign, again bought this one from @arshimo2012
A nice 1906 Sydney half sovereign bought from Australian eBay. 
 
Finally a 1901 Melbourne sovereign bought from Australian eBay for spot. 
 
And for some reason my wife thinks my sovereign buying is getting out of control? 
 






 

Received the Brexit 50p gold proof and SOTD sovereign this week. 

This is the Piedfort silver proof 50p commemorating the 25th anniversary of the entry of the UK into the EEC. I am trying to get one of each of the UK 50p EEC commemorative coins and will complete the collection with the soon to be released Brexit coins.

A few silver bullion purchases from "Swan Bullion" in Perth. The 1oz silver 2020 Wedge Tailed Eagle Coin (a few dollars cheaper compared to the Perth Mint), an Aztec 1oz silver bar and round. 
I saw the Aztec bar on this "Today I Received" thread last week. Really great design. Will probably have this as part of my next YouTube subscriber GAW.
