  1. He would have to be a dealer right? I assumed all these were limited to one per person / account otherwise.
  2. This is what the appeal was to me too. I wonder what reasons they have for prematurely ending the series.
  3. I think the problem with the RM had been that new silver Proofs - supposed to have been Quality Checked - have had milk spots.
  4. In all fairness, the last time I had milk spotting issues was with the silver Queen’s Beasts and got it exchanged by the RM. *knocks on wood* Do you think it might be the storage environment?
  5. I am so fascinated by this. 😎 I’m going to have to save these messages and cross reference with images. (Because I’m a Hobbit). —— Hobbits delighted in such things, if they were accurate; they liked to have books filled with things that they already knew, set out fair and square with no contradictions. J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings
  6. @paulmerton - Thanks for asking the question that’s been on my mind for a long time. 🙂 @Wampum - You’re my hero 🦸🏻‍♂️ Looking forward to your reply @paulmerton.
  7. With buying old coins online, it’s hard to trust images unless you’re seeing them from a variety of different angles, and ideally, can also see a video of the coin. Grades like EF / VF / whatever can be subjective, so if you’re paying a good amount of money, then always be prepared for disappointment. This is all imo based on my limited experience.
  8. The GE series hasn’t yet had a bullion counterpart so far - the closest they got was releasing the Una and the Lion bars (but their designs are different from the coin) - and I highly doubt they will go down this path as it would, imo, kill the series.
  9. So aside from Una and the Lion, this could be the dark horse of the GE series. It’s apt. 😀 Meanwhile, I’m wanting the 5oz silver. Offers welcome.
  10. This is so true - and I gave very candid feedback in that survey. I really hope they refrain from messing around with the Sovereign as we can already see the negative effect of too many Sovereign releases and variations between 2022 and 2023. I was actually pleasantly surprised that the RM reduced mintages. I’m not sure where they got feedback from about this series re mintages, but it certainly seemed to have worked.
  11. Yeah it looks like one of those ‘medals’ they include in the annual sets.
  12. I haven’t yet purchased the silver reverse proof set - I’m not sure what I’m waiting for. 😅
  13. Would that setup have been used for striking hammered coins?
  14. LOL re quality. 😆 But oh hammered coins would indeed have been a bold choice.
  15. Also surprising are the sales figures on some of the more dubious releases - are they due to dealers having no choice but to take them, or do people actually buy those those kinds of coins? 😬
  16. I had said at the very beginning that a 1/4 oz gold (bullion or proof) would have been the perfect denomination in terms of price and long term feasibility of collecting and storing a 26-coin series. The larger sizes just don’t make sense in those terms (cost and storage), nor are they really needed because portraits typically don’t have the level of intricate detail that need larger surface areas to be appreciated.
  17. I would splurge for a 1kg silver just to prove a point to myself. Perhaps several points!
  18. Oh yes. Forgot about that range… though I do recall sharing a Gazette Proclamation here recently (but not sure now if it’s for a city view coin that’s already been released now).
  19. Very possible. They did release a couple larger silver denominations for previous releases that were never really announced or even in the Gazette Proclamations (iirc).
  20. Honestly I’d have thought the Tudor Beasts a better candidate for scrapping considering the best monarchs are yet to come in the BM series whereas the TB series seems to be going from bad to worse. Imo.
