  1. I was thinking about some more brits, the funny horse privy mark ones.  I spent too much on whisky this month so I'm not getting any more silver unless I see a good drop.  I'll set my alerts for the high $16's

Its annoying that my alerts are in USD but I want to know the price of silver, GBP.  Anyone know a free texting service or app for the iphone?

I have the Kitco app on my Android phone and it allows me to

place a widget on my homescreen with Ag £ per Oz, not sure

if it's available for Iphone though.

  2. Yep if she is happy with £10 she will be giddy at £180 lol

And btw very nice of you to let her know, I'm not sure if I would be tempted to take it for the £10 or not  :P

I was happy enough to get the Victoria crown for pretty much spot price as it's such a beautiful coin

so I was happy to help her out with with sovereign;  Maybe the wreath coin is my reward lol.

  3. I've been watching ebay prices, assuming there is nothing special about 1864 vs 1863/62 then it would probably sell for around £230-50 on ebay, but to a local jeweler I suppose £180 is probably about right as they're buying wholesale to try and make a profit.

Thanks Kman, I did say she would probably get a better price via Ebay but I think the appeal of immediate, no nonsense cash won her over lol.

The detail on it was suberb though.

  4. Here's hoping!  ;)

It may not be pertinent, but the 1932 wreath crown is a known forgers favourite.

    Check it out well.

Yeah I just saw that myself.  Fortunately I have purchased these from a young lady via a local facebook group rather than an Ebay seller

and she really had no clue what she had.   They used to belong to a family member apparently and there were some 1937 coronation

medallions, various 50% Ag crowns/shillings, a sovereign, a threepence and a couple of 1977 silver jubilee coins etc.  I could even

have bought the gold sovereign from her for £10 but I was kind enough to tell her what she had having weighed it etc. and advised her

to take to it a local jeweler tomorrow and sell for approx. £180+.  It was a very fine example of a young head Victoria I think it was 1864,

hope it was good advice.
