  1. Advice needed:..........................please 🙏

I want to buy one of these two £5 proof coins --- but both have some imperfections:

No.1's obverse is perfect; but the reverse has a few shinning spots, very small and light though.

As the reserve pattern is very busy, so it's not very obvious to spot. Takes time to see them:

No.2's (below) reverse is perfect; but on the obverse Charles has a shining mole.

It's not big, but obverse has a clean look, so it's not hard to find it:

Please advise which one shall I pick? Thank you❤️

  2. my  BU matt finish has arrived very disappointed:

    1. The BU 2022 queen version sovereign looks  very different from its Proof version, probably because there is lots of empty space. but this Memorial BU feels the same with the proof.

    2. lots of quality issues both back and front 😭

Question: Is BU version generally less well received by the market than the proof version?  how did the 2022 BU sovereign do? Thinking to refund rather than replacement.

Also, what's the market price for the 5 coin memorial proof set now?

Don't listen to them. Blisters are for the ballers!

lol ..... I asked because blisters are more expensive than normal bullion on RM website. I thought blisters would have better a quality or something lol

    😎

Do you double sovereigns, and the quarter ones as well? I cannot find it on the website. Thanks !

What are the differences between the bullion version and in Blister? are they basically the same but in different packing? Thanks

Not impressed with mine either - 3/5 coins damaged. Full sov is the worst - and I’ve noticed that the damage on some of the coins I have is similar to others - black marks/missing frosting on the horse’s body.

Will be returning. My COA is 1168 for reference 😂

no way! mine was  COA 1167!

Mate you need to pump this in the sales post before you get reported, if you do not know the returns procedure for a 5.5k set maybe stick to what you know?

Thanks. Where is the best place to buy bullion version of this? I kind of regret that I got proof, something you cannot touch.

My personal opinion is all the 2022 sovereigns will do exceptionally well over the next 5-10 years and then shine brightly for the next 200 years

I agree. But what's your view on the platinum jubilee commemoratives?  No one has mentioned them at all lol .....

Interesting you mentioned the British Monarch collection. It seems a lot of people are excited about the final one. What the timeline look like at the moment? Can we get to the final one this year?

I'm not sure a memorial coin will happen. Maybe not in the way some might expect at least. I think there have been some great coins celebrating her reign already this year and it would be in poor taste to make a "death coin". But in a few years I would expect something.

Private mints will be all over it cashing in as best they can on commemorative coins. We all know the main culprits of these Tristan da Cunha coins and Gibraltar sovereigns. Tacky, in poor taste and will be over priced pieces of junk.

What will be a key coin is the Queen Elizabeth coin within the monarchs series. Also I cannot actually remember if she was included already, if not she would make an epic completer coin.

    Good points.

Thank you all for the comments. Any thoughts on the platinum jubilee range? Are they doing well? I am really not following them, but it seems to me that the Sovereigns are more popular.

  10. So sad the Queen passed away today. RIP

I guess the RM will release a memorial coin soon? Curious to know, generally, are the Sovereign coins more popular than commemoratives? Are the Platinum Jubilee commemoratives doing better? What are your guys view on the possible memorial coin?

Thinking to buy some coins in these ranges. Any suggestions?

    Thanks !
