I'll watch this in a min, The thing is BYB you have a coin thats going to be worth a lot even with the damage. I understand your frustation i would be i-st off to. Myself i have found dealing with the RM it is better to take the Gentleman approach. Just think of the older proof sets that are just out of everyones reach even in bad condition! Don't know but its worth a go if its only a cap then i agree.

Ring RM up and ask if you can have time to get it graded and if it comes back a poor grade you can send it back

What a big call. Baby boomers eldest are 76 -56 so you are correct they are already dying. esp in the North. The problem with your theory is the Government will do anything to prop up the housing market. imo meaning the down turn will not be as bad as it should be. I think you put a good argument with good merits.
