I hate to make predictions, I'm no good at it. I see it steadily climbing hopefully but that's normal with inflation I guess. Trying to predict the spikes and drops is almost impossible I find though. I've fallen flat on that before lol.

5k in a year sounds like a dream scenario doesn't it but the reasons for it going like that don't really bear thinking about. Like you said.... gold would be the last thing you'd be thinking about.

Amazing pictures and flawless looking coin. Now, when you get a piedfort can you do the same pictures for comparison on the strike relief. My phone camera won't get close to that quality.

I really don't think you'll need to return. At such a small coin that looks perfect by eye and great under 5x then you're golden I'd say. Are you going to grade it anyway? If you look for imperfections then you will find them regardless. Especially if you go past 5x.

Well I see you finally decided to join. There's a lot of helpful and knowledgeable folks here to steer you to whatever your goals end up being. I say this because forget what you thought your goals were going to be and just submit to the shiny addiction like we all have. Some of the best members that the TSF have to offer have already introduced themselves. There will be a lot more to come as you poke around the forum. There's a few that belong to a dark recess of this place, they're the naughty boys and we/they can occasionally be seen causing havoc among all the different threads and discussions. I'll mention no names but @James32 @HerefordBullyun @stefffana @GoldDiggerDave @Midasfrog and a few others might be able to tell you who to keep an eye out for.
