  1. I've never had a Kookaburra before so I'm looking forward to adding it to the stack.
  2. It is inscribed with: Presented to Lieut B.T. McPherson Sherwood Forresters on the occasion of his Marriage by his Brother Officers No1 Dispersal unit. Ripon 1st September 1919
  3. Foster88 you inspired me to get one! It's a little bit beaten up but not too bad for something made in 1919. Really happy with it👍
  4. I've just received mine! I couldn't remember what I'd ordered but was thinking "this is very nicely packaged" as I opened it! Thanks very much @BackyardBullion I'm really happy with my prize and once again great work on the money raised.
  5. Hi BYB, this really is an excellent raffle idea. Well done! I've just transferred funds for four more tickets. 🙌
  6. Thanks for the info. I've tried to find out about the side lettering regarding its orientation and have so far drawn a blank.
  7. Hello wise people of TSF. Does anyone know about the writing on the edge of the Olympic 25 Pesos? I've got a few and they all have the writing around the side the same way up except for one of them. I was wondering if this was significant or it was just random which way up they get stamped. Many thanks!
  8. Lovely bit of silver! Loving your things to do list as well 👍
  9. I spotted this today, I wonder what treasures old Mr Drabble Esq had in his collection?
  10. Really happy with these, all the talk of a pocket piece got me thinking and I settled on the Sugar skull. The Killer Bee was a very welcome surprise. Great stuff @StBeesSilver I'll be back for more!
  11. I've been detecting several years almost entirely on beaches. I'm yet to find any gold, apart from a wedding ring that someone asked me to look for as they knew the rough area that they lost it. I have found a few bits of silver, loads of lead fishing weights, bullets and pre decimal coins. But mainly loads of rubbish. I think the chance of digging up a Rolex or something similar is what keeps me at it! Good hobby that get you some fresh air though 👍
  12. I'm glad it got to you safely @Lr103 and in time for Christmas. The Christmas draw has been great fun, thanks @trp and all those involved in organising.
  13. Hi, I've been after some tungsten for a while, where did you get yours from?
  14. Hi, I'm in with a 1oz Silver Philharmonic. Looking forward to it! Photo to follow.
  15. Hello all, I was hunting around at home for a long lost Playstation 2 power lead when I found a plastic cup of mixed coins from my travels all over the world. I started going through them thinking I might find some silver quarters when I found what I think is a 1694 Godless Elephant token. The condition isn't great and has been made a bit worse by some of the other coins rusting a bit at some point. Just thought I'd share it with you on here. Thanks and have a great bank holiday weekend.

    Silver or gold?

Overall I want to make any purchases as close to spot as I can and I'm not too bothered about collecting numismatic coins unless one really takes my fancy. Quite keen on getting some sovereigns.
