New Collector/Stacker help guide help with NGC online submisison please

All clear, thank you! So "Variety plus" is basically adding your own custom description? E.g. if you put Spink number you still get "Unicoin of Scotland"?

Wow, this is SUPER helpful, our messages crossed and you answered most of my questions! Thank you. The coins I'd want to sumbit are, for example, Queens Beasts 1oz Gold Bullion Unicorn - how would you value/tier something like this please? Gold tier? For Mint Mark - thats a great tip, here i can put for example, "unicorn of scotland"? if i leave it blank they will put that also, or will have no label? Lastly do you use insurance please on shipping form (guess not as it's insured already from NGC US to NGC UK with value we input on form? As i am picking up from Uk office, this is not needed?) Good to know i can leave it blank and pickup in London! And i guess i can take my coins and form to London office for submission also? Thanks!

Thank you @SilverMike! Very kind of you, I will ask questions here so future people can search if they need this also, thanks also for spotting i am on the wrong site.. May i please ask: I guess i should select ship to NGC USA, even if i drop to London office? Same question as before on declared value - shall i be bullish or conservative? And is it capped based on grades? E.g. cannot be higher than 1500 for "modern" tier? Is "internet imaging" to get photos in database when we search? I guess i cannot put a description of the coin somewhere? Just year and denomination? May I ask Also was wondering how this insurance bit works? Shipping info is my addres? Even if i want to pick up from London office? Do you normally pick for NGC to organise return shipping and insurance?

Hi all, I've been avoiding to grade myself because i'm worried i will fill the form wrong - but i see a lot of people do it here as you can track the submission in your own account. I've already paid for an account a while back so thought I'd give it a go! Plus the London office is 15 min walk from me. I had a go at online form but already got stuck - so was wondering if any self submitters can help me, sure it's jsut a lot of stupid questions... But i have to ask as i have no idea! Forgive me please. What do i put in "Label Name" field in screenshot below? Do I have to have "Internet Imagine"? i.e. if i do not there will no photo on the search? I guess the "Per Coin Value" field has to be lower than the tier insurance you select from here https://www.ngccoin.uk/submit/services-fees/ngc/? E.g. for Modern, no more than £1500? And how should I value, for example, for an "2021 1z Silver Proof Queens Beasts Griffin", shall i put the market value or retail value? Shall i be bullish or conservative? Shall I put the coin description somewhere so I/they can tell what coins i have in the pack when i send it? For PDF ones - e.g. with NCS. I'm also confused a out a few fields: Which shipping method would you all advise to the UK? and insurence limit i guess depends on coins in the form? Whats "grading tier" re Exoress etc.? Guess it jsut makes it super fast? Thank you, anyone who may be know the answers, in advanced!
  7. Just wanted to remind everyone the first QB coin visual appeal vs the current first KB coin and put into perspective just how beautiful the Lion was/is! No hate against the KB I have some on order What does everyone else think about the future of KB?
  8. Yeah same, search, product appears, but click into product details and order.

    Shall I conserve?

THansk everyone for the comments. Maybe it's hard to see on the photos, but as @LawrenceChard said, the field seems really nicely polished with frosting on the portrait, which I've never seen on a bullion sovereign. But the obverse field also has a lot of marks (seems like dirty and not scratches when under a loupe) around the lettering at the edge and in patches. There also seems to a copper spot at the back around the harp.

    Shall I conserve?

Bought this lovely coin recently, been looking it over and I think this could do with conservation - has anyone seen similar marks? I assume this hasn’t been conserved. Also, I’m starting to think the portrait has been frosted?? Or am I going crazy
  11. My pleasure, also new so learning all this too - i believe it's still a single sovereign, technically, just double thickness, as double sovereign is a 2 sovereign which is larger diameter but similiar thickness as normal 1 sovereign.
  12. Nope, it's double the weight, but all in thickness - same diameter.
  13. Just showed my GF and she said what is a PIE-FORT, and i said it's Piedfort... she said thats not what it says here! And realised NGC missed a "D"... come on NGC, a fort made out of pie? 🤣🤣🤣
  14. Beautiful thick boy from @SilverMike My first piedfort! Thickness is very cool in person. I’m obsessed with the 2017s…
  15. Also the designs on the lunar series is absolutely shocking... look at the dog... 🤢 As a Chinese person, i am deeply offended 😅
  16. Thanks everyone! Been staying away from silver graded proof for this reason... think i will stick to gold, always pretty, even after 100s of years, with just a soapy bath
  17. I'm thinking of getting the 1oz QB proof silver (original) - but not sure as I've heard lots of horror stories of them milking in the holders over time... Does anyone have experience of this? What's the likely hood they will milk in the case - I guess it's pretty low? Thanks!
  18. @Scaffstackerthanks mate! They are so nice and weighty to hold in hand. This is the only thing not in a safe deposit box as I love having them around! Useful as paper weight and door stopper too 😂😅
  19. Thanks guys, ! i have ordered a magnet and will try and find a local dealer too.
  20. Thank you mate! May I ask how you are so sure?
  21. Purchase this recently (on the left) and received today. It looks a bit different to my other one (from Ash on the right ). The colour is slightly different and the strike seems more shallow and cleaner. Any thoughts? Thanks.
