  1. Raw? Totally agreeable. I think I just wanna send it and find out though... I think we're all agreed that such tiny flaws are not worthy of return. I'm probably gonna grade, partially out of intrigue. Shame it takes so long these days but I'll post results eventually...
  2. Thanks guys. There's only one way to find out. I'm gonna take your advice and get back to this thread in a couple months with the result...
  3. Could anyone offer their any thoughts or advice on this coin. I do feel really lucky to have purchased a QB 2oz proof completer, but I can’t help but notice tiny flaws over the queens face. there’s small dots, most noticeably just right of the earring, the forehead, and neck. Also one right on the cheekbone. Most of these are more noticeable at certain light angles and are very minimal there is also tiny flaws on the reverse rim, but nothing glaringly obvious. Would you return? Would you expect RM to consider it worthy of replacement? Or is this too minor? And also, would this guarantee it to be below PF70 if I had it slabbed? I have shown one photo at a more preferable angle to hide the marks and are mostly unnoticeable…
  4. I think if you would prefer a replacement, then you should ask for one. The worst they can say is no, but I think they will say yes. They should see it as fair to treat you the same as any other customer and offer the late replacement, unless they really have hit their mintage limits. Also, I'm pretty sure you're entitled to your £9 postage back along with the full refund as you were returning because of a fault.
  5. I wonder if they should strike x amount of additional coins beyond the stated mintage, just to allow for error. Then obviously melt the fault coins and spares after 30 days or something. Better still, get things right first time. Look to Perth Mint, or Royal Canadian Mint and find out how they addressed the milking issue. Maybe as The 1100 year old Royal Mint, they would never openly ask another mint for advice? Maybe such information is sensitive and other mints wouldn't hand out to those possibly perceived as rivals? Perhaps hire moles to work in other mints and steal their anti milking technology 🤷‍♂️ Or perhaps they aren't concerned, as long is things keep selling... Surely that's not the case though? Maybe they don't have the resources to upgrade facilities? All these perhaps and maybes are hurting my head now 😣
  6. Ahh I see. So that looks hopeful. I'm about to return the mini set if I can get round to it today, I'll post it on "today I returned"
  7. It does look like a refund doesn't it 🥺 If they aren't replacing, would you consider your set back? That could still be possible if you call them. I have fingers crossed for you either way .
  8. Did you find any further info on this?
  9. Hey look, we're all rank newbies! I mean, I was a rank newbie anyway but according to the new feature, you're all on my level...
  10. Interesting. With 8 sold already, could that be shill purchasing to make it look more appealing to the unsuspecting customer?
  11. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304056459775?hash=item46cb2d61ff:g:g8EAAOSw82lg4sgb Lowered the price now. Hoping to rope a few more in before they all catch on... (Apologies for this being on the QB set thread)
  12. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304056089300?hash=item46cb27bad4:g:g8EAAOSw82lg4sgb Someone is doubling their money on them already Rather opportunistic considering buyers won't know they're available yet
  13. Instead of reporting returns, perhaps we should be asking TSF community how many of us actually have a good set to keep.
  14. I’ve used before with no issue i assume RM are insured for this service and once you have the receipt for postage, it’s RM liable for losses - keyword being assume
  15. RM probably listed it knowing the secondary market value makes it a good buy for anyone, even with the blizzard. You have some good options now. Conservation, keep raw, sell, ask RM for a restrike 😂😂😂 Either way, great news that you avoided the cancellation email, well done 👍
  16. I don't think anyone will slag you off mate. It's a valid opinion and I'm sure you're not alone in seeing it that way... On the other hand, this series has such nice design that collectors will try their luck with silver proofs, and likewise there's profit for flippers to take the chance too. I'm really in two minds from here, ask for replacement and hopefully get the set sorted, or refund and call it quits before more milking appears... My thoughts exactly. Would remove the milk gamble
  17. My 1/4 silver has the hairs on the outside of capsules. I assume it's fibres from the black lining in the box, perhaps when the lining was trimmed or something... One of the coins is milked 😞 it's barely noticeable, but will only get worse I assume... And that's basically the issue for all of them, you don't know when more spots will appear and therefor not worth keeping. Some of the other coins have issues with frosting too. I'm gonna take a few days to ponder over asking for a refund or replacement...
  18. Ah, so from my experience, their customer services is generally very good but they do sometimes give out generic information. So customer services staff may be briefed to say no replacements when there is actually a chance of receiving one... You do have to wonder though, if there are many returns then maybe they will put complete sets together out of the good returned coins...
  19. The listing says £185 also now... Was £255 on release day
  20. 😮 WOW!! Good luck mate. I guess it's always worth scanning the old listings...
  21. It's just the hinges. The coins are actually quite snug. If I put tension on the loose arms of the hinge, the rattle stops entirely. I'm happy to accept it's just a slightly annoying, but perfectly functional design on the hinge
