I would have taken it had I not just bought the 1997 from another member. The 2023 QEII coins are special as they're posthumously dated, and I believe all come from a 20220917 batch. The rumour was that when our late Queen passed the mint consulted with the King who advised that they kept t to save energy.

I think these will appreciate over time. RM never publishes the mintage figures of bullion Britannias so people will never know, but there's no doubt they'll be far, far fewer in number cf. any 2014-2022 dated ones.

You're not making letting it go any easier 😭

I mean...it's one of the coins you could tell a story about, I snatched up 10 personally and that had really tested my financial means. But I still desire more.

PS I bought across December to Febuary that's how I found out about the 20220917 thing. When you buy a naked coin from RM they give you a white paper holder sealed with barcode and serial number

If we do the right thing this time, we might have to do the right thing again next time.

Don't you have half a dozen KCIII Coronation and Cypher? Sell big ears instead!!

The cypher seems like a flop. With half the mintage of Coronatiom Britannia the latter have pretty much gone whilst you could still pick up the cypher from dealers at reasonable prices

So definitely sell the cypher instead @Upsidedown

They're both crowned KCIII. The Brit sold out (BBP has them at £1727 each) but the cypher still available at Atkinsons for £1680 ish. Given that there are twice as many crowned Brits than cyphers I reckon the Brits are more than twice as popular so I'd keep that.

It's just my recommendation and I might be wrong. But I have both and like the Brits more, and I half guess I'm in the many. The dealers bit kind of proves that

Thanks for the advice, I will try to shift the cypher 😬
