New Australian Charles III effigy

It’s going to be used in a few pacific countries too. It must have been cheaper than using the MJ version is all I can think. Will see what Canada does next.

Aaaahhh😉

I don't expect anything remotely accurate. Every image they've used since ditching the Machin portrait has been distinctly odd - caricature at best, emaciated at worst. They emulate the UK designs but never quite get it.

That was actually a pretty good portrait (I think it all hinges on the eyes and the posture).

The suit worked for when he wasn’t yet King.

I think this just look more like him irl. I've met him couple of times when he was PoW and it really is the eyes that make the likeness.

What's wrong with double breasted suits? They're quite nice

If we do the right thing this time, we might have to do the right thing again next time.

Oh that’s so cool! 😎

Nothing wrong with the double breasted suit per se. I was just commenting on how, for a reigning monarch, it seems a bit common like it could be any famous person’s portrait.

For a reigning monarch’s coinage effigy, in keeping with numismatic tradition, I feel the portrait should either be couped (cut off at the neck) or in regal garb.

Just imo of course.

I see your argumen there. For a bust you mean he should be wearing military or robe? That will make a lot of sense

Let’s face it… the MJ gets everything right imho. A truely great effigy.
