1873 shieldback sovereign, reverse has a ding/scrape/indentation around the middle from left to centre right.., as with gold looks better / worse in different light at different angles.

Still a lovely coin, and appears to have overstrikes on some of the numbers and letters as well which adds a lot of character

A very fair price, if it is just an indentation and the coin is not crimped I would say a bargain, one of the lower mintage IB's

I did consider it. but I do have one for that year. I'm trying to be strong and only get dates I don't have at the moment. However, If it's still here tonight I might have to grab it.

Could also be a die crack on the reverse. That’s a lovely coin.  Agreed, it’s got character. Blast! I just had to go get some milk at the shop and missed this beauty.
