Silver double sovereign holder.

Good evening all, can anyone help me with  I think a minor repair to a double sovereign holder . The pin that holds the top and bottom sections together is missing so I need a new one. I knew this was missing when purchased a couple of years back just not got around to sorting it hence my call for help, this is not a fine piece  but I like it and feel its history says it's to nice for the pot. any help gratefully received.

Could try a jeweller or maybe watch repair type place locally? 🤔

Yes thank you that is on the radar but finding time to do it is the problem , I was hoping there maybe someone out there that had that knowledge & skill set on the forum. I guess I'll have to wait a while and see if anything or anyone comes to the rescue.

Not having one at hand to see, but would a pin similar to ones for watch strap segments do the job? Just slide in?🤔 the thickness of these varies widely.

It's similar but without measuring it probably double the length and some, I leave it a day or two and maybe go down the jeweler route, thanks for your input.

I have a very similar problem. I have a lovely Birmingham Silver double Sovereign case which won’t catch when closing and I would love to have it repaired but like you I’m unsure who to approach. Hope you track someone down 👍

When I find someone , and I will I'll let you know I felt sure someone on the forum would have that skill set or know so mone who did .

A simple search for manufacturing jewellers in your area should supply many results many of which will be able to undertake the job you require doing.

Yes thank you I really wanted to use someone from the forum but that doesn't seem to be likely , not a problem as I do have a plan b along your train of thought.
