1969 Guinea Republic Gold and Silver Proof Set - République de Guinée

As Wikipedia says "Not to be confused with Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Papua New Guinea, or Western New Guinea." Despite the relatively high issue limit of 4,000 sets, this is the only example of this proof coin set I can remember seeing. Quite why Guinea failed to issue an Independence coin set in 1958, I don't know. Perhaps there was one, but I am not aware of its existence. Gold Obverse Designs The mention of the 1972 Munich Olympics might sound anachronistic, but of course, the next venue in always known at least 4 years in advance.
