Well my dear laddin's...spotted this for sale and wondered what ye made of it.

Looks the part but just the sellers items and history make me smell a rat.

Well, a quick search in auction results from recent months reveals that you could acquire a similar coin in much better condition for around half this price. E.g. this one. So it could make sense to wait for new offers at some reputable auctions and save some money plus have additional peace of mind...

Perhaps my inexperience with NGC showing here, but do they ever slab fake coins on purpose and label them as such? No. So, it would stand to reason that any coin they slab has been verified by several experts and would not require the word "Genuine" in the description. If anyone has a slabbed coin to dispute this notion, please share your picture. Just seems suspicious to put the word "Genuine" in general.

 

Just debunked my own thought. They do use "Genuine", but they do not use and slab "Fakes". They will however slab replicas, but they use Genuine and Replica to separate the two.

Cheers lads thanks for the replies. I was just a bit suspicious as the seller usually deals in cars and parts.... much as I'd like one of them it's not happening at the moment.
