How to NGC Grade 2015 SOTD Sovereign?

Recommended Posts

If there is nothing that distinguishes the SOTD from that years bullion version of the coin then it needs to be sent in to the grading company unopened from the mint (i.e. the original mailing package needs to be unopened), then they can designate it as a that type of SOTD. Most people naturally open up the packages, which is why the census report for this sovereign is tiny.

I think it was 2017 when the RM started differentiating the SOTD sovereigns with plain rims/different number of milled groves/privy marks and so forth to differentiate them from the normal years bullion.

Thanks for the info. I am not 100% sure if they are exactly identical, as the SoTD is also of brilliant uncirculated.

Was thinking it would be nice for my kid’s birth year  😄

The ones i have seen from seller are all opened for the pictures. i guess, it is not quite possible to grade them with the SoTD label now.😉
