Buying from the EU

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Has anyone bought from the EU since brexit?

I used to get my silver from the European Mint in Estonia, but I'm wandering what I'd get charged now in import duty/vat etc.

I've noticed some EU retailers applying UK VAT at the point of sale.

Has anyone any experience of the process, or useful info?

Cheers,

Marc

All silver coming from the EU is now subject to 20% VAT plus a processing fee around £10 per shipment.
Those EU sellers registered with UK VAT can charge you UK VAT otherwise expect to pay double VAT even if the first tranche is fairly low e.g. differential VAT.
I think the days of ordering from the E.M. and GS.be and others are long gone.
