Opinions on price

Evening all, happy Christmas!

Just after an opinion on a couple of purchases I made on fleabay.

1990 Queen Mother £5 proof coin (925 silver) for £22 all in?

Maria Theresa Thaler £16 all in?

I've been picking up 1oz bullion for a few weeks and fancied something different 🤣 prices OK?

Probably a tad on the high side for one, about right for the other.

The proof coin is about £16 at spot, so £6 over spot is a bit high. You want to be looking to get these at £17-£19

The Thaler, is about £14.50 at spot, so £16 is actually not a bad price.

Thanks for the reply Tiger,

Only been picking up bits for a few weeks so not that clued up yet 🤣 got a nice benchmark to use for these pieces now 👍

Try not to get caught out by the weight of "royal" coins

they look around an ounce size, but most are 28.28g

But be careful as some from other mints may differ

to work out silver content, weight  x proof

for example; 28.28 x .925 = 21.26g of silver

Thanks for the replies boys, like I said only been collecting for a few weeks (I normally buy rare trainers/sneakers for my extra income but am enjoying turning the profit into something I can stick in the safe for the kids) Happy Christmas everyone 🌲

Since this is a thread on price,  what is a good price to list this at?

You would get £28+ on Ebay (in my opinion) as it doesn't seem to have any relation to the spot price, I'd imagine less if listed on here.

I know it's been a while but I have seen these going for around £40 at auction on Ebay (I said £28 before assuming it was a bog standard bullion coin, only just started collecting!)
