40% Kennedy's worth stacking?

I ordered 2 rolls at spot and was wondering if this is ok for stacking given its low silver content. These were ordered for bartering but, I am kinda curious if I should put more emphasis on stacking these since they are at spot.

In my own experience, 9 out of 10 would prefer to pay a small premium for 90% than pay spot for 40%, so selling when needed maybe an issue but I am in the UK and prices vary across the pond

AS far as using 40% Kennedy's for barter, do you think the people you are bartering with will know what they are, their silver content or that they even have silver in them?  An example of this is what happen to me yesterday at the grocery store. The store had turkey (whole) for 67 cents a pound.  I bought two with a total weight of 48 pounds. The cash register said I owed $80. I told the checkout that that amount was wrong. She call over a manager who had to get another manager  because none of them could figure out how to get a total  I told them to take 48 times 67 cents and that would be the total. You would have thought I was speaking Greek and I left with no turkey''s as they said they could not sell them until the computer was corrected. I do buy 40% but when silver goes up the 40% silver coins are the first to be sold for a profit. I do the same with the Canadian 80% silver coins.  Jim

The 40% halves are not popular.
Each one has .1475 oz silver, and .22 oz copper. So some like them because copper may get really expensive some day, and you are only paying for the silver right now. These also tend to be in good shape and not worn.
The 90% halves are very popular. They have .3575 oz silver. But they tend to be worn unless you get Franklin or 1964 Kennedy.
The reason the 40% is not popular is because you will need to take up 2.5 times the space to store them over the 90% (a lot more weight as well). Right now this doesn't matter for you, but it might matter after a year of collecting/saving.
The 90% halves are the most popular. Then the 90% quarters, and finally the 90% dimes. Sometimes you can get a good deal on a batch of 90% Roosevelt dimes. People like the Mercury, but not the Roosevelt.
Other than that above, be happy whenever you can get silver at spot!

No. In a bartering situation why confuse the matter with having to do a bunch of math to figure out a happy medium to make a transaction. Keep it simple, one ounce rounds that are stamped with weight and purity. Even better would be ASE's as they are the most recognized here in the states... Having around 10 tubes of Eagles stashed away for uncertain times will serve you well. Random years that are in BU condition can be found on sale...

I don't like the 40% halves, I would barter for 90% halves. I mostly buy government 9999 silver maples and Queens Beasts for pleasure. Because the coins state the weight and purity. I do have ASE's too. 90% dimes I like best for constitutional silver. If for example silver rises above $40 or more an ounce. And I had to barter for something less than $40. Fourteen dimes are equal to 1 ounce of silver. I wouldn't have to worry too much about change back.
