Best place to buy these bars? UK sellers trying to flog them on Ebay for stupid amounts of money, i'd rather swerve!

These bars seem like peanuts to buy in the U.S, yet UK sellers want £25-£30 per oz on ebay.

Apmex (1oz) - sarniasilver.com

Scottasdale (various) - thegoldbullion.co.uk

Sunshine Mint (1,5,10 oz) - Atkinsons

Whatever it costs in the US, you need to add on shipping from US to UK, 20 VAT, eBay fess of 10%, 3.4% Pay Pal and then seller profit.  Hence why eBay prices are HIGH.  If you want a selection of sizes and brands, then you might be better off just buying from Apmex direct.

I honestly do not think it is worth buying 1oz bars in the UK unless you are forming a collection, and then you will have to accept paying inflated prices. I have a few, thanks to Atkinsons' mix-n-match silver, but only because I wanted to get my order size up to the next tier of savings as cheaply as possible. If you must buy silver bars here, the 500g or 1kg sizes can work out reasonably economical despite the VAT, whilst still being easy to store.
