Portfolio Diversification - Royal Mint Signature

Recommended Posts

Good Afternoon

Firstly I hope I don’t offend anyone as i’m acutely aware we all trying to grow our physical stacks but in terms of portfolio diversification wondered whether anyone traded just PM numbers and if so would recommend opening an account?

As long as there is not a big premium on buying I think it could be a good idea. For say you could not afford a 1oz coin but did not want to buy smaller coins with higher premiums. Instead of saving in cash and maybe missing a lower spot opportunity, this could be a good way of accumulating your money until you can afford an ounce and then take delivery.

Hi Jack - I think you need to make this sort of decision on what suits you alone.
I am sure 99% of forum members have and continue to buy PMs so that's answering your diversification.
Some of us prefer to hold physical not trusting those who vault your assets.
One advantage of having a PM account I guess is the ability to trade instantly and avoid VAT on silver and platinum if not taking possession of the PM.
There are charges involved and paperwork trails of course.

I don't but I think it's a good way to go, but choosing the right supplier is crucial, there are many crooks offering such PM saving plans and models very considerably in terms of your right to get it delivered. For Germany, allegedly "goldsibershop.de" has a good offer in that respect, in any case they are an established dealer where I wouldn't expect unpleasant experiences. Unfortunately, I have no clue who might be a good supplier in the UK

I've had a signature account for a wee while. Decided to open one,as I've always worried that if silver does one day shoot up in price, then the easiest way to sell would be to click a button. Now put majority of budget into it,just buying non-bullion,when I need to scratch the itch. Only drawback I've encountered is that when I did sell some back (just to try it out), took about 10 days for money to land in my bank.
