2018 kangaroo

Has any one noticed that the 2018 kangaroo silver one ounce coin is of very poor quality compared with the other perth mint products? I have a small batch and the queens head is all frosty and the outside seems to have a yellow tinge to it. I'm very disappointed with the coin, anyone else got the same issues?

Indeed - they’re not the best. The quality is  similar to the Perth spiders from a few years ago, which were also rubbish, and the Athens Owls, equally cheap and not so cheerful, but still an oz of silver.

The Perth mint bring out too many products in my opinion. The standard grade bullion coins are most mints bread and butter. They should focus on quality of the cheaper coins to match the other big mints. Like @Shinus73 states it's still an ounce of silver but I will definatly be looking elsewhere for my standard grade bullion coins. I wouldn't recommend the kangaroo to any stackers

I really like those owls...

I agree. I like the minimalistic design of the Kangaroo but it could definitely be minted with a higher degree of quality. For the premium I would rather stick to ASE.

I purchased a few as BU and they all have some frosting on the queen's face.

Me three.

Me four... They are really great. I bought one tube of the Kangaroo's last year and they ended up spotting more then any other coin i've ever owned. Like everyone says here if you are looking for a cheap silver coin that also looks pretty fine the owl is always the best choice.
