    Pictures please!

I read an interesting blog about a woman who got her local college tutor to help her cast some silver bullets in the lab kiln.

It was iffy and inefficient and not entirely successful, but she gave up just before getting a good system in play.

It was something to do with some fictional character casting bullets in a story ...

Silver rounds/bullets are a thing in the USA.  .The different calibers dictate the weight of silver.  It ranges <pun> from ¼ ounce to 25 ounces.

My biggest concern would be how our boarder guard services would react if they were to xray the package.

Just received some bits from the USA a 2 oz Niue Turtle, ( this is a really nice coin to hold).

    5 1 oz .45 calibre bullets.

1 Come and take it round.

1 Bulls and the Bears for my share dealing when I am undecided!!!

Also picked up from my local supplier, 4 half crowns, and 5 proof coins 10 years of the bank of Sierra Leone but gave two each to the two boys as stocking fillers.

How'd you get a delivery on Christmas Day?  Santa's Sack?

i love uk trade dollars , one of my favourite coins . i only have one though as they tend to be a bit pricey for me .

    looks like a bombay mintmark

The British and US Trade Dollars have been on my wish list for quite some time.  I never seem to be able to get close to a descent example for a reasonable price.

Nice haul there SilverSniper! So which us your favourite 1 ounce design? I don't have any 2016 designs yet - was tempted by that new Britannia design , but I guess I will get at least the Kookaburras - given their high quality. Do you have any silver Libertads?! Eagles also a classic.

My favourite design from this delivery, on in general?  From this delivery I guess I like the Noah's Ark design the most.

I do have Libertads, Eagles, Philharmonics, Kookaburras, Pandas, and many of the Britannia designs, in my own collection.  I think the Pandas and Libertads are the best bullion designs.

This is just bullion coins, I have an extensive numismatic collection as well.

Coin types I have no examples of: Koala, and any of the Lunars.  I'm also not keen on the colourised coins, so only have a hand-full of those.

  5. Past couple of days I received the following silver 1oz coins:

Tube 2016 Britannias (not loving the textured background/field).
    Ten 2016 Kanagroos.
    Tube 2015 Armenian Norah's Arks.
Tube 2015 Canadian Bird of Prey, Great Horned Owls

Last Friday (I think) I also received a Tube of 2015 American Eagles.  Don't know if I mentioned that before.

The only thing still awaiting delivery, a Tube of 2015 Austrian Philharmonics.

The 2015 silver Libertad proofs - 2 and 5 oz. Always stunning coins, such detail.

Then a big piece of joy today when visiting a San Francisco coin shop : a  characterful 1909 St Gaudens gold $20. It was that or a 2009 gold US 1 ounce image.thumb.jpg.295a8246381f0315af4c3b2fimage.thumb.jpg.d19cf8712ebe3e5397b0ee71

I've only got the 1oz  Libertads in my collection, now these images have me thinking they need bigger Sisters.

How many years is a full date run? I like the Fiji taku and Noah's ark coins, don't have any of either, nearly bought a tube of Noah's a while ago from Germany before the tax went up to 19% there, now I am regretting that I didn't, as the silver that is available tax free in EU is a bit limited.

What do you think of the philharmonics, compared to other bullion coins in the EU I think they work out the cheapest per oz. For some reason though I dislike them, there is something a bit boring about them.

p.s. don't worry I will get the tapatalk thing sorted shortly

Philarmonics are good bullion coins.  Yes a little boring as each year is the same design; much like the America Eagles.
