Pete got a reaction from kimchi in This is What I would Buy With £500 or £5000 RIGHT NOW!
Another excellent video and for newbies a good introduction showing what your cash will currently buy.
My personal view right now is that gold is at record highs so a correction could be around the corner but no-one knows.
I would rather wait and see how prices move over the next few months but the last time I waited I wish I hadn't - very difficult to judge !
Silver compared to gold remains "cheap" if you can buy at realistic prices and not at high premiums as seen on some coins recently.
If you can buy 1 ounce silver coins for say £25 each then I would not buy a 10 oz for £250.
With a lower budget and requiring liquidity there is no point stacking anything above 1 ounce.
With a budget of say £2,500 I would definitely recommend 4 tubes of 25 silver coins well ahead of anything larger in weight.

Pete got a reaction from Arganto in I Have Mixed News About The Future Of Silver Coins - All About Milk Spotting On Royal Mint Coins....
If milk spotting is caused by impurities ( salts ) in blanks developing, exacerbated by sudden variations in heat and humidity ( flight to Florida from the UK as mentioned ), then proof coins using the same supplier(s) of blanks will also be prone to milk spotting. Spots on expensive premium proofs would destroy totally their appeal and probably value, unlike regular bullion, so investing in proofs is by inference high risk. Something the RM needs to take into account.
Historic discussion amongst fellow stackers about milk spotting and how it was particularly bad from the Royal Canadian Mint, seemed to suggest this was caused by chemicals e.g. borax that were used in cleaning and rinsing the blanks. If the final water rinse wasn't properly purified ( sharing the bath water for too long as an example ) or adequate, "soap suds", chemical residue ( perhaps a type of "salt" ) left behind and dried on the planchets was then baked on to the surface from the heat of pressing the dies.
I don't believe the "salt" is from impurities in the silver but more likely a "salt" present on the surface due to inadequate rinsing, or cleaning, or using mildly contaminated water in the final rinse.
That would explain the batch problem and why some but not all coins are stained or spotted as they leave the mint.

Pete got a reaction from ShropshireTom in This is Why I am DONE With Silver and Will NOT be stacking more of it in 2021 - I AM SERIOUS!!
I always enjoy your videos and there is some good advice in this one BUT I don't agree that silver proofs are worth paying even higher premiums over bullion.
Proofs look great and even with limited mintages when it comes to selling in say 10 years you could ( like me ) get very disappointed in what people will pay for what was perhaps a "hot" coin when issued. Many beautiful silver coins will unfortunately spot and that blemish on a mirrored background will totally spoil the coin.
Not every coin will tone and spot but many will so less people want to pay the premium for a non-perfect specimen.
As for buying gold, personally I think gold will fall in value soon and may take a very long time to recover as stock markets and global economies jump up a gear.
When and if gold falls a bit I will likely buy some and if silver rises I will start to drip feed to pay for the gold.
If there was a secondhand market in good platinum without the VAT I would also buy more platinum.
Now that I am depressed after listening to your video I need a cup of tea and go watch a film !
