Just bought a couple of bits,hope they track! @Orpster I bought something on eBay through Quidco over the Weekend that was 6% off but it tracked at 1%. On further investigation it says on the site that the correct cashback will be updated a couple of weeks later. Is that correct? -

Compared to the 20% Topcashback deal on eBay the Royal Mint deal was pretty poor. I will be shocked if the Royal Mint don't honour the deal as other dealers were offering Gold close to spot on Black Friday also. It was a mega deal by Royal Mint standards and a decent deal compared with other dealers.

No they are Bullion Coins. They are supplied with Pobjoy Mint Pouches. -
If it had been a totally obvious mispricing and it wasn't for the fact it was on the Black Friday weekend then it would be fair enough if they reneged. I bought a Krugerrand a few weeks ago off Tavex for spot, so one would assume that it's not an entirely obvious mistake for the Royal Mint to be selling spot price Gold, especially on Black Friday.

I had that once happen when I used a Tesco Credit Card, Royal Mint blamed Tesco and vice versa. I've only bought a couple of bars for that reason.

You could also say that Sterling is at all time lows against Gold. I'm not expecting Sterling to ever make a recovery against Gold, therefore I don't want to hold much cash apart from cash to pay the bills.
