I'm still waiting for confirmation from my bank. They contacted me a few days ago with a load more questions on top of what I have already answered asking about how I made sure the person was who they said they were and how I determined if the items being sold were real.

    Thank you for the feedback.
My message asking for feedback was merely a request for some time in the near future rather than an immediate expectation that it hadn't already happened.
From my perspective I was asking as my previous purchases on TSF had resulted in no feedback. Therefore I thought it wasn't the norm for sellers to leave feedback. Therfore felt like I had to ask otherwise I'd remain feedbackless.
I understand the privacy part and it makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.

What a great thread. Interesting how it started as a way to undermine the strength of the forum and cause harm, but look at what has come out - incredible generosity, solidarity, and lots of constructive and community-building discussion.
As one of the top sellers on the forum it behoves me to be part of this discussion about feedback, looking after buyers etc. and I'm sure that I was in the minds of some of those members criticising business sellers not giving feedback to buyers and I fully take that on board.
As anyone who runs any kind of high volume operation is aware, it is a challenge to keep multiple threads running and not to drop them or run out of time for them, and a way of dealing with that is to use systems - they are more failsafe, and more efficient.
I know how important feedback is especially for new members, but feedback is time consuming and requires total concentration to get right, so I have a system to ensure I don't miss anyone out. Yes, there is a bit of a wait involved, but better late than never, right?
Roughly every two weeks, I go over all the feedback I have received on the PC (it is so difficult on the phone!!) and leave feedback for those members one by one, from oldest to most recent. I try make sure I select the right thread as well. Everyone who leaves feedback for me will be reciprocated, to my knowledge, without fail, with this system.
I thought about this a lot and tried out different methods, and this seems to me the best way to get it right, even if it means a bit of a wait for the buyer. I am sorry about that.
One thing I should probably do better is tell people that's what I do so they know that it WILL come.
The other reason I do it this way is that for me, the transaction is not complete until the buyer has received and is happy with the item and the service. When I buy, I put a lot of weight on how good a seller is by how they handle when something does go wrong. Mistakes happen to both good sellers and poor ones, but the good ones will bend over backwards to put it right and make sure the buyer is happy. So When I have got my feedback, I know that the transaction is complete, the buyer is happy, so I can then reciprocate. If I would leave feedback immediately when the buyer has paid it would cut out the whole after-sale side of the transaction.
For me, it is good practice for the buyer to inform the seller when they have received the item and leave feedback at that stage.
Bit of a long-winded way to "explain myself" but I hope it helps to give the perspective on why I do it my way and that there's no intention to walk away from it. Any tips of how I can do it better would of course be welcome.
So, @stefffana, I haven't forgotten about you - I'll get onto it right now!!

I dont see why there is confusion over feedback, as a seller and a buyer feedback to me is equal in importance.
As soon as a buyer has paid I leave feedback as their part of the transaction is complete, the buyer then leaves feedback when goods have been received and checked as my part of the transaction is done.
It's not rocket science is politeness and common courtesy, as a seller you treat your buyers with respect and go as far as is possible to make the sale as reassuring as reasonably possible it is large sums of hard earned money that is being handed over and as a seller the least you can do is respect that and acknowledge you appreciate their purchase from you.

Being a buyer on TSF is as difficult as being a seller in my opinion. It is 50% from a successful transaction and many sellers usually ignore the buyer's efforts.
A buyer will have to make a lot of hard decisions:
    1. To choose from a large selection of products offered for sale on TSF.
    2. To buy a product seen only on pictures from a person who never met before.
    3. To communicate effectively via PM with another member. Can be more difficult for some people.
    4. To have trust to divulge to an unknown person the real name, real delivery address and real bank details.
    5. To have the trust to send (usually) a large amount of money to an unknown person.
    6. To wait sometimes hours or even days until the payment was confirmed. Happened to me to not receive any message after payment which is very frustrating and stressful.
    7. To wait patiently few days until the goods has arrived.
Please, guys, reconsider your position toward buyers! Your buyers are your customers and a successful transaction is the one where both parts are 100% satisfied!🤗

I'm averse to prying eyes and overreach, nothing to hide just don't think it's any of their business what transactions I make in the future. I am guessing most on here feel a level of responsibility of being their own bank as you can't trust the mafia who hold your paper funny money and print it's value away. So that means we need to be extra careful so a valuable lesson learnt by me and an example of what not to do.

I am not sure if reporting it to action fraud helps in getting funds back. I was put off by the list of agencies they share your details with. From reading the T&Cs it seemed to me you indefinitely open the door to all your transactions past and future when you use that service. I reported it to my bank immediately but have not yet raised it with the police fraud department as the risk to reward ratio seems staked against you.

I won't name names I will reach out to them again and go from there. One has been active in this thread the other was named earlier in this thread as one of the most trusted sellers who I've bought a couple of times from. Both are business sellers.

I did. I haven't been on here since I first raised the issue with Chris when I received my sweets. Pretty blown away by all the supportive messages and gives me faith in the community here, it seems like it's very rare. The few prior experiences I've had on here have been very positive. I am usually very careful and have never really been properly scammed before, anywhere. I thought I had done my due diligence looking at his history but there are some subtleties I missed being so inexperienced here.
I believe it was just the 3 of us that got scammed by him. Not sure if more people have come forward than that. I'm still catching up with all the messages on this thread. I'm only halfway through.
The delivery note that I received from SilverSells was from Peterborough. This was my first suspicion of a scam as it had been sent via second class and the details on the right were missing, ie the weight, but I didn't know that at the time.
I'm still in communication with my bank to try and get the funds back. They are going the route of the CRM code so not so straight forward. Annoying as I usually pay with a Halifax account but this time I didn't.
A very kind and generous offer by BackyardBullion but hopefully the bank will return the funds and people can keep their silver.
I will post any updates here.
    Cheers
