A nice 1880 Melbourne G&D I picked up this week. Clearly been cleaned, but nice condition.

A nice 1891 Melbourne Jubilee Sovereign from @DrDave. Very nice condition considering the price paid.
 

2012 Full Sovereign.
Quite a tricky coin to photo, the strike is very light. Lizzie has a Glasgow Kiss as well.

Another recent purchase. The reverse ruins this. Explains why I got it cheap.

They just don't make them like they used to...

I don't know why Machin Sovs don't get more love? Now that the copper has had time to tone, they look almost the same colour as Gillicks, and the portrait of QE2 is much better than Gillick's.

I've always struggled to find decent condition Eds out in the wild. My 1909 is the closest one I have in 'decent' (?!) condition.

A 1918 Sydney Mint Sovereign I picked up the other day.

Lovely coins. I'm a massive Machin fan as I'm sure most of you know. I present the 1983 Double Proof Sov. My favourite coin, and even if I had to sell all my Gold, this one would find a special place in my anus and be preserved:

1989 Double Proof Sovereign.
Apologies for the squiffy angle, it's a slabbed coin, and they are terrible to try and photograph. I had to use a warm light bulb for the backing light as well, because anything too cool caused too many reflections off the slab.
