  1. Yeah that sucks. But it's just swings and roundabouts. As I said above, the feedback system just moves the problem backwards and forwards. Currently, a seller could just as easily damage a buyer's reputation even though they have done nothing wrong, after they left positive feedback. Fixing the feedback system isn't going stop all the scams. Nothing will. Anyway, this thread isn't about "how to fix eBay", it's about "moaning about eBay". 😁
  2. I understand your position, but my argument still stands. None of the above is fixed by the seller holding back feedback. You are just moving the problem. What is the feedback for? If anyone reads and believes the feedback, it's all about how quickly the buyer paid. In reality, the only thing that matters is that they didn't cause any fuss. A buyer could pay in 10 seconds, and then the seller ghost them for days, choose the slowest postal service and package the item in tissue paper. But if the buyer complains about it and leaves negative feedback, the chance they will get positive feedback in return is zero. Unless they come up with a system where feedback is mutually agreed between buyer and seller before it is published, someone needs to commit and therefore someone can be screwed.
  3. All of the above. Plus... Sellers holding feedback to ransom by not giving feedback when the buyer pays. I pay quickly, usually within minutes. Once I have paid, I consider my part in the transaction complete; I've done my bit. Sellers should give feedback once someone has paid. If they wait until the buyer gives their feedback, all they are doing is a) holding feedback to ransom and b) giving feedback for the feedback. Instead of "Quick payer" they may as well type "Left me great feedback". This devalues the entire feedback mechanism. (This isn't just eBay.)
  4. Thanks. Just a simple Amazon thing. I'm quite happy with it. You can get different sizes. Skelang 3 Pack Coin Display Case,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0867BNCDF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
  5. Thanks. Wait until I get a full set of the 10's. Bad news is it will take up half the wall.
  6. ... Continued. Saved the best until last. Silver 2oz and Gold 1/4oz QB set complete. I guess my plan, after finishing the 2oz QBs, of going onto the 10oz next, didn't work out. I want to thank both @Midasfrog and ultimately @modofantasma for the complete set. (I now have spares!) Photographing the whole lot was a challenge.
  7. Thanks to @SilverJacks for the trio of ozzie sharks.
  8. .... Continued. Next up, let's stick with the silver. @Panda6Pack supplied: (Last week) The Hildegard Variants (I still think that sounds like a 1960's spy novel) The Shield of Henry II (and previously the backfill of the other shields). Horus, plus a backfill of all the previous Egyptian series.
  9. Define "too many". 🤣 Besides, you're wrong. Not just coins. Bars and shields too. 😁
  10. Change of pace now, and let's go to a different metal. @SilverJacks sent the lovely Una and the Lion bar, my first. Where have these been in my life? Courtesy of @Panda6Pack, I received the latest shield, with mind-blowing depth and detail.
  11. Let's stick with the Sovereign theme. @ArgentSmith provided this beautiful Royal Mint Victoria Sovereign Set, which included my missing Jubilee head from 1887, the first year.
  12. WOW! Just... WOW Despite the mail strike, I had a huge haul of coins arrive today. Quite late in the day, I'd given up on them, but then the joyous doorbell rang. Not really planned to get this much at once, but several things that I'd been looking for arrived at the same time. My bank balance is extremely unhappy. This is going to come in several posts. Let's start with a 1957 Gold Sovereign, first year Our Majesty QE2, thanks to @Orpster. I'm collecting one of each head, and particularly hoping for first or last years.
  13. I completed my set of 2oz QBs! One at a time. Some of them are far from perfect, and I could certainly work on swapping some better ones in over time. My next QB target are the 10oz's. A bit more expensive...
  14. Catching up a couple of days... Thanks to @arshimo2012, @brnlx639 and @James32.
  15. I am about to post a Wanted for a Griffin. If you are looking to sell, I would be interested. Looking to pay £70 plus post, or exchange for another QB.
  16. A little more investigation... I found some Lighthouse 'Grips 22' capsules lying around, and they do indeed fit, but not perfectly. Looking at the side of the capsules, they have 22.2 written on them. These are better than the 22.5 I had, but still enough to rattle. That said, they are about twice as thick/high as they need to be, so most of the rattling is actually up and down rather than side to side. I think unless someone like Lighthouse produce a 'perfect fit' capsule for Sovereigns (which they should - they do a great one for QBs), I am stuck with foam rings.
  17. They are not a company I would likely deal with, even before your information. However, they did come high up on a Google search for what I was looking for, so I'm sure they will do well... 🙄
  18. As I say, I'd prefer direct fit capsules, as I think they look better - you can see the sides of the coin. But I will try the Air-tite foam ones, just to see. The H series are slightly larger than they need to be. They do a T series only slightly larger than a sovereign, i.e. has a very narrow foam ring. 0.05mm too small in foam will be a lot more forgiving that 0.05mm in plastic.
  19. Yes, that's the one I saw and mentioned in the OP. Ridiculous. The RM site has sets for of 20, except as mentioned, they are never in stock. See above.
  20. Anyone have a contact in Lighthouse or Air-tite? This has surely got to be a gap in the market.
