Charity Auction for Momodou United at last. The various 'awards' from the charity auction have all arrived. Thanks to @SilverDrum for the jam and Eagle, to @James32 for the baby Eagles, and @stefffana for, you guessed it, the silver spoon! (There may be a few too many 'in jokes' in the image.)

Yes, I was about to say they've got autumn and winter in the same scene. Seriously though, that's ridiculous. They obviously aren't even looking at what they send out.

I have been wanting do this sort of thing myself for a while now, but kept putting it off. I see people making the same mistakes, and it's not any fault of their own. If you're not 'into' photography, a lot of it can be confusing and counter-intuitive. But a couple of simple concepts will lead to huge improvements. I will definitely learn from "Dr Dave's 'pro' photo tutorial." And I'm more than happy to help out, if I can.

What is the collective noun for Yales? I asked Google, and it laughed at me. I honestly think in the case of the Tudor Beasts, it should be an "Ugliness of Yales". He needs to get some lessons from his more hansom QB cousin. Anyway, with the arrival of the 2oz and 10oz bullions, I have a group.

Next up is this tiny little 1/10th from @morezone. It's from 1997, the year I was married, and is meant to provide good auspices. Well, I'm still married, so I think 25 years isn't bad.

A number of arrivals that have been in the pipeline for a while. First up are some cute little puppies supplied by @Panda6Pack. Has to be the strangest capsule I own. The top two pics are the same coin pair, the "Fenrir Geminus", and the third picture is the BU pair. I wonder if they deliberately timed the release to coincide with the eclipse.

I've tried that before; no one took me up on it. Either my photos aren't up to it, or they don't trust me with their metal. Either way, I'm not insulted, honest. 😭

From The Royal Mint, I picked this up. I'm becoming fond of this series, although I may just stick to the 2-ounces - seems to be the sweet spot for beauty vs bankruptcy. (Not sure 'beauty' is the right word here.)

Next is this little gem from @McDougall. I've never had a silver £1 proof before, and this is in remarkable condition considering its age (1988). Two different lighting effects for your enjoyment.

A bit of a haul today. Let us begin... My latest 1oz gold coin. I don't get them very often as the amount of money in a small package always scares me. Here next to its silver twin. (The irony of a mouse owning two rats, sold by @Rat, hasn't escaped me.)
-
Thanks to @Neuri0n for my first gold eagle. Will upgrade to an ounce soon. Parrot: "Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight!" from @ilovesilverireallydo.

Exactly. You have to be quick, but bargains appear on here quite frequently. And by quick, I mean seconds. Especially for sovs and 1/4s.

Not to me! 😭

And a chiding from the boss. Shame.

It's a prototype satin finish bar from @LiquidMetalsUK. Since you ask nicely, I will take some more photos of this and others. 😁
-
I do need a '89 (or four) in my life. Beautiful coin.
-
Thanks to a certain @James32 for these two. Picture of the sov came out quite coppery... although he assures me it's (mostly) gold. 😁 And embrace that satin loveliness. A @LiquidMetalsUK prototype.

As a wise man once told me "If you're buying money, is it really spending?"
