  1. They should absolutely do their Redback Spider coin with the toilet seat case.
  2. I am pleased with the lighting balance. Usually, proof fields are either plain black or plain gold. Getting that transition point can be tricky, but pays off in the visible texture of the surface.
  3. Me too. Getting it slabbed was a mercy. 🤣
  4. 1999 Perth Mint Centenary Gold Proof Bi-metallic Sovereign Effectively a 'normal' 22ct sovereign, surrounded by 999 silver. Also had this for over a year, and decided it's a keeper so had it graded.
  5. Ah OK. I don't know how that would even work. The card charges are one-offs. They can't just arbitrarily take more money from your card, unless you pre-authorise it. Can only think it would work if you held an account with them.
  6. The status of my orders is "In progress". The totals are messed up, in that the individual items and item total do not include the discount, but the order total does, and is what I paid.
  7. Why are people only being charged now? My card was charged the moment I ordered, and it was for the discounted price.
  8. What, you mean Bump Bars? Too soon?
  9. Nice lighting. I was very tempted to buy one of these. Looks great.
  10. Don't exaggerate. It's only about 100 proof sovereigns. It's about 330 bullion.
  11. Well, as I said earlier, we get spot price gold pop up all the time on TSF. (Not usually fractional bars, but still.) If Tavex had been selling these at effectively 0%, word would have got around and it would probably have been a pretty popular deal. Not as popular, but still popular. But also as I said earlier, I think part of the psychology that made this deal popular was the desire to futz with RM. I don't know which way it will go, but whichever way it does, I don't think there would be legal recourse. And I don't think people would be shocked either way.
  12. If the success of their argument depends upon proving that users had knowledge that the pricing was a mistake, I suspect the gig is up. They simply need to read this entirely open and public thread, that has been linked to on social media and is on the front page of Google results.
  13. Thanks. I have updated my post (page 1) with my prize donation; for your records "1oz silver Coronation 'cypher' and a Maltese Eagle."
  14. 2018 Canadian 1oz Proof 200 Dollars Edward VII A really unusual coin this. Very pure 99999 fine gold, bright yellow. And a treat to see a large Edward VII portrait in gold. Again, I was very surprised this has survived 5 years to make it to an unscathed PF70UCAM.
  15. I promise you this won't happen. There is literally no one in Wales called Tarquin. 🤣🤣🤣
  16. 2021 St. Helena QEII 95th Birthday "double sovereign" A great homage from EIC to the iconic Tudor Rose sovereign design. Delighted it graded as PF70UCAM.
  17. Oh, they definitely did not intend this. I think we're all agreed. Whether they roll it back is the big question. I would not want to be in that meeting tomorrow morning. I would love to be a fly on the wall though... Tell that to Tesco, who have been selling mince pies with expiry dates in November for months already. 🤔 🤣
  18. I promise you I hear what you are saying. Theoretical scenario. Say I wanted to tell my mates about this great deal, so I post a link to here on my Facebook page. Would that bother you? Would you prefer I first put a post here telling you I am going to do that? (In reality, this scenario will not happen for me, but I am quite certain it will, and probably has, happened for others already.) My point is that this is public internet. It is reasonable for people to consider this fair game. There are private areas of the forum for things that you don't want to be public. If you don't want your posts to visible to the world, don't post in public areas. In a few days time, you will probably be able to google this page, so it won't even need to be linked. Honestly mate, I am not trying to be awkward, or make anyone out to be stupid. I am just saying how it is. It's the world we live in. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.
  19. I completely get it. Really. I'm just saying that people link to forum pages all the time. Should they declare that? BYB has 55k subscribers, and that video has been views 1400 times so far (probably by about 1000 people). Those number are tiny in social media terms. Now, if the problem really is how public this thread is, then you could request it be moved to a non-public area.
  20. Why? I honestly don't get the problem. It is a completely public page. You don't even need an account. Do you want people to do the same if they link to a public page on TSF, on Twitter or Facebook? Because a link allows people to browse around, see all the pages, etc.
  21. I still don't know which way it will go. In the wider view, this is an absolute drop in the ocean for RM. They've 'lost' a few thousand quid. On stock that they probably wouldn't have sold otherwise, without more promotions and more conventional discounting. They have 'lost' far less than they would have profited from the spot price being relatively high. That's trickier. Define greed. A primary motivation of almost everyone on this forum is to maximise investment. Is that a definition of greed? As I say, it could go either way. Is it worth all the bad will and embarrassing publicity? Is it 'the deal of the century'? It's spot priced gold. That happens here on TSF every day. We even had a spot priced sovereign the other day - something I've never seen. If they'd been accidentally selling it for half price, then sure, there is no way that would have stayed up, and all the orders would be cancelled.
  22. It's the top 5 posts on page 19 that are visible. The most obvious is @Fenlander1 's meme saying he's out. This entire thread is public. You could link to it on Twitter, Facebook, whatever, and anyone can view it. Don't need an account. Don't forget that different parts of the forum have very different levels of visibility. This part is completely public.
