Hi All 👋 So here’s a little fun. IMHO there’s a sleeper on the Royal Mint website, that you may have already noticed or perhaps not noticed. Perhaps even already purchased. However I have a feeling that this had been overlooked by many. In case you’re not familiar with the terminology, a “sleeper” is a term used when describing a product that people haven’t noticed and will potentially miss, mostly because it has been misdescribed and therefore under it’s true value. It’s used a lot in the antique trade and especially auctions. Although the item in question hasn’t been misdescribed (Based purely on the spot price), I TRULY feel that once off the site, the value will increase by 50%-100%. There is a precedence already set by another similar series. Any guesses?

Thanks for the pics. I have a few Perth mint sovereigns and the P definitely looks different and higher. However as @Sovhead has the exact same coin and says it’s exactly the same, it’s made me more comfortable 😅. Great pictures. I’ll have to sort mine out 👍 Thank you 🙏

It is a beautiful set and I genuinely don’t think this will show up in any reference book or site. It’s not on numista or anywhere I looked. As mentioned, it is very likely that this was presented to delegates from member states. Hence why they don’t mention mintage on the COA. It may never have been for public sale. Goodness I’m starting to talk myself out of selling it 🤔 👍👍👍 🙏🙏🙏

Having spent the good part of a week researching this, I could not find another, or previous sales. It would not surprise me if these were given to State delegates who attended the historical meeting in 1991. I seriously doubt there are many out there. A brief history: “The month of July 1991 marks a milestone in the history of the creation of the Ibero-American Community of Nations. It was on that date, and in Guadalajara, Mexico, where the Heads of State and Government of the 21 member countries met for the first time. On that occasion, the leaders laid the foundations for the construction of a meeting forum that would allow them to advance in a common political, economic and cultural process. Thus, they decided to establish the Ibero-American Conference of Heads of State and Government with the participation of the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking sovereign states of America and Europe. In this way, the path of political coordination of the governments began in their attempt to seek joint solutions to the challenges faced by the Ibero-American nations and convert the set of historical and cultural affinities of the Community into an instrument of unity and development, based in dialogue, cooperation and solidarity.” Condition- They are in excellent condition to my untrained eye. Hi All 👋 Just wanted to make sure with those with far superior knowledge on this than me. The P mint mark doesn’t look right but perhaps that’s just my untrained eye. all other tests on this coin come up trumps 👍. Have I missed anything else? Still trying to get my head around taking good quality photos. I struggle with the light all the time. Hopefully it’s clear enough 🙏 Opinions please?

The set includes the; 2015 Year of the Sheep - Mintage 9888 2017 Year of the Rooster - Mintage 3888 2019 Year of the Pig - Mintage 3888 Each coin is 1oz of 999 pure silver, struck to proof quality. They all come in their original outer and inner boxes and have their individual COA’s and booklets. They are all in exceptional condition. I am based in Portugal but can ship to the U.K. Although I don’t have a trading record, I am prepared to send first to any established, and active member with 50+ positive ratings. @Spyder @sovereignsteve went to see my coin dealer this morning and he sold the set. He didn’t tell me to who but he did say another dealer who paid €9000.00 for them. Seems high to me but who knows. Maybe he’s already got someone for them. Condition issues aside, it was nice having them. Even if it was for 24 hours 🤷‍♂️ @refero you’ll be like “phew that was a close one” lol 😂

@sovereignsteve @Spyder I took the coins back today and made him an offer of €5000. I explained the reasons behind the offer. He didn’t say no. He just said he wants to show a couple of other collectors and see if they make an offer. I get the distinct feeling he was expecting more. Let’s wait and see 🙏
