  1. Here’s quite a bit of info. Would love to see the 5kg Gold proof in person 😳 https://britanniacoincompany.com/blog/waterloo-medal/
  2. From the couple of responses so far it looks it will be fractional bullion for me from now on, unless the proofs etc, are of a very similar value 🙏
  3. So I was with my local coin shop dealer yesterday and had a very interesting chat. I was curious to why he was so stacked up with gold (not so much silver) and at good prices. He mentioned that this was always the case when gold was on the up or there was some kind of global crisis. Sellers cash in and buyers hold out expecting a correction. Once things settle down he says buyers then come back in, as they realise this is the new norm. However what he then went on to say was quite interesting. He said during the 2008 financial crisis, it didn’t matter wether it was a gold proof, graded or of Numismatic interest (unless very, very rare), he was paying bullion prices and people were accepting. He went on to say that PM’s are not on the up because the world is all rosy. He was of the opinion that even at these levels it was good to buy, as when the SHTF scenario arrives (which he doesn’t feel is far off), then it will literally be unaffordable to the masses. My initial thoughts were this was only in Portugal and then I remembered Tim from the Yankee stacking youtube channel saying something similar a couple of years ago. So what are your thoughts? Do things need to be really, really bad for this to happen, or will indeed the majority of gold being proof, numismatic or graded be the same as bullion? I guess if you need the money you’ll take what you can get 🤔
  4. Anyone interested in making an offer before it goes back into the vault?
  5. Thank you for the info @stefffana 🙏🙏🙏. Glad you like them. It’s a beautiful and rare set.
  6. Hi Clive 👋. Glad you like them 👌. I’m not entirely sure if there are any taxes to pay in the U.K. However I’m sure there are members on here, based in the U.K. who would know. Happy to help in any way possible. The other option i thought about afterwards was to give them to a friend who will visit the U.K. and he’ll give them to my brother. PM me if interested and we’ll figure something out 👍
  7. Hi All 👋 Something very, very rare (I really am not talking this up) for the Numismatic collectors out there. Finding just one of these is hard enough. Finding the entire full set, with original cases and COA's is literally unheard of. Numista rarity rating is 100. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/exonumia403397.html Mint - Numismatica Italiana I will post first to any active member on the site who has more that 75 positive feedback and can have a gold/platinum member vouch for them. I will use DHL express, which is usually 24/48 hours, fully tracked delivery. I am happy to take the risk and undervalue them for VAT purposes (if there is any to pay). Alternatively I can give them to my brother who is visiting me in 3/4 weeks time, and he can take them back to the UK and you can meet him in London. Price - £4350.00 including DHL express. Obviously if you're in the EU there's no taxes to pay. Any questions please ask and thanks for looking
  8. Super response. Thank you so much. I’ll bare that all in mind, and I guess buying from a reputable member or dealer is also quite safe (but worth double checking for extra peace of mind) 🙏🙏🙏
  9. WOW! What is it they say “they don’t make em like they used to” 😞
  10. Thanks for the link. It’s interesting that they were already sold out. Just wondering if the history of the Royal mint will make any difference to the long term price, like the Pamp Suisse series did 🤔. Only time will tell 👍
  11. I can see that lol 😝. I’ll make sure to share any good deals I find in the future on here……….or maybe not 🤔
  12. Care to elaborate. I’m sure there are many hard working, Muslim, U.K. citizens on here, who would love to know how they get their “free money”. 🤔🤔🤔
  13. @dicker @BackyardBullion I may be wrong, but I believe that you’re looking at this as seasoned veterans of precious metals, who are not interested in “anything religious” and not from the one time purchase, present giving, Muslim buyer. Detach yourself from all that and look at this objectively. I know from one of my previous business’s that when it comes to buying gifts for religious celebrations, price is sometimes the last thing on their mind. For example. It’s like when I started buying Banksy prints and originals back in 2000/2001, the seasoned art critics thought he was nothing but a graffiti artists damaging public property, and wasn’t worth the money. All points of view are off course valid but I’m sure glad I didn’t listen to them back then. I guess only time will tell. I have 👍
  14. Take a look at the Pamp Suisse faith series selling prices on eBay. That was also one of my reasons. That’s also the point. People are looking for something “more exciting” as you put it and are completely overlooking this. Just my two pence 👍
  15. Yes it is bullion and only probably back in stock because they know Eid is coming up. Will they continue that 🤷‍♂️
  16. Ok here you go, but before you press the link, please read my reasons behind why I think this will be a very good future investment. If you don’t agree for whatever reason that’s fine. Just thought I’d share and have a bit of fun on a Sunday afternoon. https://www.royalmint.com/invest/bullion/bullion-bars/gold-bars/kaaba-20g-gold-bullion-minted-bar/ 1 - The Royal Mint have made not one, but two short YouTube videos about this. 2 - There is also an article on the Royal Mint with the history of the Kaa’ba. So they’re putting their weight behind it. 3 - It has been on the site for circa a year. So quite possibly going to get removed soon. 4 - There are circa 2.25 Billion Muslims in the world and gold is always an attraction and part of their history. 5 - There are two major religious festivals (Eid) every year for Muslims. With millions being spent on presents. Every year looking for something different. 6 - Combine that with the most sacred of monuments in Islamic history, then surely it’s a winner 7 - A precident was set a few years back by the Pamp Suisse with their faith series. It’s now selling for circa double the original price and the Ka’aba was one of the releases. 8 - I personally don’t feel the premium is too bad for a 20g solid gold bar. Like I said above if you disagree no problem you don’t need to buy one. However it’s worth a consideration 🤔🤔🤔
  17. Oh don’t be like that. Just a bit of fun 🤷‍♂️
  18. You wouldn’t need to pay anywhere near that 😉
