that's exactly what the tariff 5 % is for genuine collectors of rare numismatic quality historic coins,  not 200 queens beasts which are bullion coins they are rough mass produced got plenty myself, remember these 999 coins have only been available to buy last 20 years to the public since the internet a very young market in these terms if you pay the uk vat and stack silver bullion cgt free coins of coarse ,you wont lose money over 10,20 years investment 

I usually buy VAT free via physicalgold.com and we have been warned for months now that all purchases of silver from abroad will be subject to VAT. 
I have no doubt the VAT will be applied to gold "in order to bring taxes in line with silver". Then confiscated and the price revised upwards.

sorry didn't know about the new "supply" vat rule , Is the "supply" vat a standard 20% then on these small orders even if you order britains and othet legal tender coins ?

The £135 vat free import limit is still in place,  If you order small silver orders of 4, 5, 1oz not exceeding value of £135 no duty is owed on importing coins from european countries even with shipping  still works out cheaper than buying in the uk at 20% vat ,place 100 orders of 5 coins to get a monster 500  box vat free....cheers
