Dubai Gold Souk

Recommended Posts

Evening

I just wondered if anyone had been to Dubai Gold Souk before? My partner went years ago and said gold jewellery was considerably cheaper than in the UK, I just wondered if anyone had visited and what the offerings of gold coins/bars were like?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Been a few times, including the Gold Souk. Worth a visit, but is mainly gold jewellery, not gold coins. At the time was only looking for Indian sovereigns - managed to buy an Indian minted 2018 sovereign at the airport departure duty free. Plenty of other gold coins were available.

There have been many changes in Dubai, so you could get lucky. Vending machines for gold bars/coins were available at the airport. Not sure if it’s any cheaper in the souk though….

Have a good trip…..
