Quantum sensors and the future of mining

Recommended Posts

I was watching this video for a different reason (nothing to do with metals) and this popped up.

It's all to do with quantum sensors and how they can map out the earth beneath the ocean and understand the different density of what's down there. He kept referring to all the data points as fingerprints and they would know where to mine.

Do you think there would be a effect on the market in the future if they could mine beneath the ocean?

Hopefully I hal linked in the right point.

I think in some respects this probably is the future. We've been mining the resources on land for millennia while the ocean has been relatively untouched (except for oil and gas). Here's a video you might find interesting:

A great way to destroy the fauna and flora of the ocean floor :(
