Pouring your own Silver

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I have just joined the silver forum and wanted to ask the community if anyone else pours their own silver? I have recently started doing it and its great fun and I am having some good success with smaller bars!

Big problem as ever is getting affordable silver to smelt. Due to the size of the kiln I am using I can only smelt silver shot.

Does anyone know where I can get silver shot at a decent price?

If you are interested my Youtube channel is called Backyard Bullion

Thanks nr73

I got 100% refund as well even though the seller was playing silly buggers with the whole situation. Ebay is very good at protecting the buyers.

I have a playlist on the subject of fake silver:-

It's good that eBay are on top of it. As a seller though it leaves things open to you getting hoodwinked. Like you suggested in your video, someone could swap a legitimate item for a fake and claim that's what you sent, in which case eBay would no doubt rule in their favour.

Yes, very true. I am weary of selling anything generic on eBay - the silver bars I make are pretty much un-copyable. But to be sure there are issues being a seller on eBay.

I'm pretty sure that they monitor accounts that make such returns and claims - if you stick to established buyers with decent feedback in general the risk of swaping out is quite small.
