Scrap value of pre 20 and pre 47 silver coins

Hi, I hope all is well with everybody.

I am looking at buying pre 20 and pre 47 silver coins for scrap value.

This is my calculation to make sure I don't overspend, I am using a scrap dealer calculator to work this out:

pre 20 silver coins are 925 silver - I will get £40.06 for 100 grams

pre 47 silver coins are 500 silver - I will get £17.80 for 100 grams

So say somebody on ebay is selling 322 grams of pre 47 coins and charging £7.20 postage.

They are worth £57.33 in scrap value so £57.33 - £7.20 postage is £50.13 therefore the most I will pay making no profit is £50.13.

Am I right?

Thanks for everybodys help.

I think you are basing your prices on scrap prices paid by a dealer?

Spot price for sterling is £44.06 for 100g

Spot price for .500 is £23.82 for 100g

Factor postage into these prices and you have spot price, however dont forget sellers have to pay fees and postage, so dont expect to find lots at spot price, its hard to find any but it can be done.

Edit - I see you are looking to have delivered for scrap..Good luck, it might be possible and certainly more likely to be doable on the .500. I guess it comes down to how much time you have spare.
