Hi all,

Have you seen the 1oz Fiji iguana coins that STG have started stocking? What do you all think about these becoming semi-numismatic in the future with a mintage of 75000? Same question for the 1oz Congo coin (mintage of 50000)

Thanks

I bought 5 Congos (because they were supposed to come in sheets of 5, but didn't). And 2 Iguanas. All from APMEX. I doubt the premium will increase much (not really a long-term or short-term winner), just got them to add to the collection. Besides, the Iguana is a 2015 and the 2016 is about to come out (both in 2016 - kind of a scam)... so twice that mintage is coming out this year (but with different dates).

Yeah i am glad that my Congo's arrived on complete sheets, guess its just to save on postage costs that they cut them up. Apparently the Iguana's come in Scottsdale boxes if  you buy 25. Wonder if they just mean a Cardboard box (APMEX)?

The thing that attracts me to the Congo and the Iguana are that they are the first of a series, this could make them appreciate more in the future? What do you guys think?

Possibly. First in series quite often are the lowest mintage and become expensive if the series takes off later. Maybe worth a gamble if not too much of a premium.

Although if the coin sells out, 50k is quite few (iguana is 75k)
