NHS awarded the George Cross

Recommended Posts

Given that the Queen has just awarded the George Cross to the NHS, I wonder whether the Royal Mint will commemorate this?  It would be relatively easy to incorporate a George Cross into the design of the "N for NHS" Great British Coin Hunt 10p.  I think this would be a worthy achievement to celebrate on a coin.

I would have loved to see far more alphabet 10p's go into circulation as it was a great idea but almost impossible to find them.......Trust me I was going through £100 bags of 10ps from the bank must have easily done 15-20 bags and gave up found about 9 in 15-20,000 coins.

In response to my query whether the Royal Mint intends to commemorate the NHS being awarded the George Cross, I guess I got the standard response from the Mint: "Information about our upcoming coins remains confidential with relevant updates being released to the public and customers leading up to the launch."
