Hi All

My neighbour asked me if I knew what this was (he found it while metal detecting in the west of Scotland).

It is not gold but is metal - looks /feels like copper perhaps. Dated is 1911.

It is 18mm in diameter and weighs  4.26g.

Any ideas would be most welcome as it has us both stumped!!

Try a neodymium magnet and check if its silver - I seem to find it "appears" to be a 1 Crown

Thanks 5huggy - just tried the neodymium magnet and definitely not silver - magnet just falls off (no resistance like you get with a silver coin).

Looks like a Brass coronation coin?

Ah interesting the pic you supplied looks very similar to the coin. Had a quick google and I can see a few of these on ebay etc - anyone have any thoughts on its background?
