Why Gold Will Eventually Be Almost Worthless

Thanks for the video link KT, I've read about the amount of available gold expressed in various different units over the years and it never fails to have an impact " wow, is that all there is!!???" is the usual reaction. I understand a proportion of it is locked away in religious icons and artwork for the foreseeable future as well. Without huge technological advance (3D printing your own sovs would be a good start) gold, or the desire to own gold looks likely to be around for a couple of years or so.

As for the dollar failing by 2020, left to its own devices it could well do, unlikely though with probably the worlds most advanced military machine waiting in the wings to prop it up.

Good video Steve, I'd like to see that and it's ilk on the school curriculum, might result in a better informed generation and better understanding of the value of longer term planning, he does overlook the fact that a lot of cash is tied up in property though, and I would guess most people would see property as a safer investment than cash or gold. I wonder if once you reach a certain age, selling up, renting, and putting the rest in PM would be more viable (and more fun) than staying put as an owner occupier, I must say the thought has crossed my mind more than once lately.
