1989 Gold Proof three coin set Sovereign VALUE?

I’m trying to obtain the 1989 Gold Proof three-coin-set Sovereign.

I’ve been offered the price of almost £3000 for this set from a very reputable firm. Am I getting ripped off? It comes with original certificate and the original case.

What are the grades normally like when buying historic coins for reputable firms like Royal Mint, etc.?

Where else should I look for to buy this coin?

Thanks!

£2500 is the most I would pay retail on them. They are one of the most desirable sovs from the 80s/90s

If you are willing to shell out that kind of money just buy them direct from the mint and save a fiver. https://www.royalmint.com/our-coins/ranges/historic-coins/historic-sets/1989-elizabeth-3-coin-gold-proof-set/

Thanks for your answer.

Another vote for M J Hughes, I bought a 2005 Sovereign set from him and with conservation all came back at 70. Very friendly and more than happy to help.
