I have ben planning to convert more Numis to bullion over the last few months and have by and large succeeded.  Then they bring out a new Mother of Pearl 5Oz commemorating Mississippi Steamboats.

Well, the best laid plans of Mice and Men eh?  I already had factored in the purchase of the same Goat/Sheep when it comes out but wasnt expecting to be blindsided by another Nautillus/Zeppelin/Titanic.  Where's Michael Oher when you need him? (apologies)

Easier said than done when you have all the others. Please stop using logic and common sense

Well said lol. I embarked on my first true non-bullion purchase - just had to have it i'm afraid I could only trace 2 in the UK - mainly because it weighs 1 KG

Was it an error to buy Long John, you appear to be an expert on these things - cost around 2kg of silver but the next cheapest i could find on ebay was £1400

I'm certainly no expert Richardski. I take it this is the 1kg medal issued by Norwegian mint?

If so you look like you got an ok price considering what others are asking. Issue for you like me is whether you can fetch the same as the prevailing asking price because it will be a long time before silver value in coin catches up. The main point is you have something you want to own so you're already in a good place.

Ok you can't eat numismatic items but you can't eat gold or silver either

Yes you are right Norwegian Mint. I made an error - I paid £490 for this coin (including postage) I bought other items which took the total up to £900 (which is where I got the 2 kg from). It was originally being sold for £999 then reduced to £599 and I offered £480 plus postage which was accepted.
