Swiss Silver

I'm off to Switzerland in three weeks time a friend has bought an old FIAT  yes car! and asked if i would help out on the long drive home.

 

I know nothing of the silver produced there, or the TAX situation or the availability of silver.

 

We will be arriving in Bern on the Saturday for a beer or ten and some sightseeing then picking up the car on the monday morning so i could in theory pick up some silver whilst i am there. My bud may even pay!

 

does anyone know of Shops / Dealers in the area within 20/30 kms of Bern. a quick google wasn't very helpful.

The Swiss mint is in Bern.

I know of a couple of coin shops in Bern but it's a bit overpriced. Then again, there's something about buying a 1925 Swiss 5 franc coin minted in Bern in Switzerland itself.

 

I've got a booklet catalog here, just seeing if i can find it.

Always reckoned Switzerland was better known for its gold. Heard you used to be able to walk in to UBS there and buy gold direct from the bank

Perhaps a silver toblerone would be more appropriate for a trip to Switzerland
