Since 2014 the 1989 has gone up 30% and the 2012, 2002 and 2005 have all risen well.

Seems to be lots more interest in proof Sovereigns then before and I think this trend is likely to continue for sometime.

My prediction is the 2017 strike on the day will hit 1000 pounds per coin within the next two years.

It has absolutely everything going for it, 1817 Limited mintage, the 2017 design, and the distinctive Plain edge finish.

I ordered an 1887 sovereign and I was also wondering if there are any Edward VIII sovereigns? I think there were no coins for him struck in England of any kind, but there are coins from other colonies: Africa, etc. So is there an Ed VIII Sov?

On the topic of tails, is there a standard used for current Sovereigns or does it vary?

If I’m not recalling incorrectly, I’ve seen stock images (even on the RM website) that show one tail design but actual coin pictures show another ?

Edit: I posted this in the wrong thread (I must be losing it!)... I’ll copy it over to the one discussing “tails” and a moderator can delete this post.
