Just a rant about the Royal Mint

On the 3rd September I ordered a 1oz proof Lunar dog @ £85, they were shown on the website as in stock.  After a couple of weeks I still had not received it so I went back to their site and logged into my account to check progress and found it was "due end of September"   Fair enough I thought they obviously don't have it in stock or it would have got to me 3 days later.

Another couple of weeks go by and I log in again to check progress and it now says "order cancelled by customer", I figure they have cocked up so I order it again as again it says it is in stock and this time I do get one through the post around a week later.

When I checked my credit card statement however I see I have been charged twice, on the 3rd September and the re-order on the 4th October so it's back on to the Royal Mint website and my account where I find another 1 oz proof on order and due "at the end of October".  I spend a while on hold this morning trying to get through to the Royal Mint and when I do they say it was them that cancelled my order due to "computer issues" and that they reordered it for me and that was the one I received.  When I told them I only wanted one and wanted to pay for one the woman at the RM said my second coin was en-route to me so they could not cancel the order and reverse the credit card payment I would have to send a coin back to them.

I told them if it was in the mail to me I would keep it as I usually get 2 anyway but I get my second one from Island Stamps and Coins on Black Friday when they give a 20% discount just to save the hassle of sending one back but I am in no way enamoured by the service at the Royal Mint and why it takes a month rather than 3 days to get an item that is supposedly in stock.
