At the moment im 100% silver but as im new and im also looking at getting a bit of gold,

And this where the main topic come's into it, do some people on ebay have more money than sense, I say this after having a quick look at full gold sovereign's and I saw this on ebay (see link) 2014 full gold sovereign from bullion-by-post with an hour left to bid at £220

But if you have a quick look on there web page you can get the exact same coin for £203 both come with free delivery???

Mark up due to eBay and PayPal fees, some feel secure with eBay and for them perhaps £17 difference isn't that much of a big deal when we're talking hundreds of pounds.

If it was a buy it now i could under stand the mark up to cover fee's but its an auction what started at 1p maybe be your right by saying some feel secure with eBay and paypal

It's all a huge melting pot of reasons and explanations about why things do that, it simply could be them not knowing BBP have a proper website and aren't just an eBay dealer.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, in my opinion anybody buying PM's should educate themselves on the value (and lowest purchase prices) of what they are buying.

I can't see people buying sovereigns on a whim.

A BIN and auction still command the same 10% final value fee, with PayPal fees on top.

It's crazy though. The BIN price is out of the customer's control but for auction, if you know what you are doing then surely you would not bid above £200 for a sovereign at today's gold prices? I wouldn't accuse BBP of using shills but it does make me wonder.

As silly as it is i think some people just get carried away with auctions..they don't want to "lose"

Who likes losing? ebay could have worded it "your bid was successful" but no its ebay item won!.. people like to win lol.

really?  I thought "you won this auction" was pretty understated way of putting it.

If I had my way I'd like to see the message at the end of the auction "get in there you just pi**ed all over the other bidders"

I know the push notification on the iphone app says "eBay item won".
