Technically its not a precious metal, but we often have fakes/copies put on for verification etc - so no problem using the gold section. If the 'coin' is 25mm in dia. less than a mm in thickness and very light its almost certainly a gaming token replicating a George III Guinea probably 1798. I have one myself as a keepsake! value = Peanuts! Probably carried as a good-luck charm at the casino.

Thank you i have just done a google and i thonk the quality is along the lines of a gaming token as you say. As for this thread did i post it in the right place for future reference
